Future openings include:
Yard Planner – Responsible for planning the safe and efficient movement of cars, engines and other on-track equipment in our yards. This is achieved by planning and co-coordinating daily switching and transfer movements in conjunction with customer priorities.
Rail Traffic Controller – Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains and other on-track equipment along our Main Line. Effective communication with the Train Crews and Yard Planners is essential along with an expert’s knowledge of rules and regulations.
Billing Clerk – Compile and manage all paperwork associated with the movement of trains and rail cars with timeliness and accuracy. Effective communication is essential with our connecting railways and Yard Planners in managing the customer’s requests.
Accountant - Responsible for the preparation of financial and operating statements, account reconciliations and providing Managers with financial and analytical support.
Human Resources – Range of responsibilities include recruitment, training/coaching, employee relations, payroll/benefits, admin functions and organizing company events.
Safety – Responsible for ensuring compliance to rules & regulations and to promote our safety culture here at NB Southern Railway. Safety personnel assist with quarterly department safety meetings, educate on health & safety issues, perform Rules training, chair our JOHSC and work with all Managers to ensure a safe environment for all of our employees.
Sales/Logistics – Our sales department strives to deliver excellent customer service while managing our customer relationships. They are visionary in developing new business opportunities in traditional and non-traditional railway services.
Process Improvement – Responsible for leading our Managers and employees in improving processes, creating more efficiencies and helping to create an environment of continuous improvement.
